As the government shutdown marks three weeks, the Senate is set to again vote tomorrow on the House-passed funding bill.
Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) refuses to call lawmakers back to Washington, where the House has not been in session for a month. Some House Republican leaders are discussing extending the original House-passed continuing resolution, possibly into 2026, to give lawmakers more time to negotiate over a long-term deal on government funding.
